MenuSano Releases a Brand New Feature: Recipe Costing

Toronto (March 20, 2020) - This month, Sonia Couto and her team are pleased to announce the release of a new MenuSano 3.0 feature called Recipe Costing.

Available to all MenuSano 3.0 premium users at no extra fee, this feature will allow foodservice providers to see the cost of each of their recipes. For non-premium members, Recipe Costing can be purchased as an add-on for $10 per month or $100 per year for yearly subscriptions. This valuable feature allows users to calculate the cost of their recipes created with the MenuSano system. This can dramatically change day-to-day operations. With MenuSano’s nutrition analysis software, professionals can create recipes in MenuSano before purchasing the items, thus helping them plan their recipes accordingly.


The Recipe Costing module enables MenuSano customers to use an ingredient cost database to calculate the cost of the ingredient used in the recipe and determine the total recipe costing. MenuSano allows users to list all ingredient costs available in the ingredient price database and add suppliers to the system. With MenuSano, users can delete or edit the details of the ingredient cost. A bulk importing feature is also available with the Recipe Costing module. Users can download MenuSano’s Excel template, add the cost of their ingredients, and upload in bulk. Entered manually, an ingredient cost is linked with a supplier, ensuring data accuracy for MenuSano users.

MenuSano’s Nutrition Analysis Software will calculate the ingredient cost based on the available measurement unit and the imported base price. Users can also export all ingredient costs to an Excel sheet which helps facilitate costs, expenses, and daily reporting for any foodservice establishment.

This brand new feature is simple, quick, and easy to use. With MenuSano's new Recipe Costing feature, foodservice providers can calculate the cost of all of their recipes, ensuring that they are selling each item for the right price, which helps them gain a better view of their profit margins. Their bottom line is MenuSano’s bottom line.
