About Keto Food Co.

Keto Food Co. is a unique fast-food concept in Toronto, founded in 2020 by Michael Hay (founder and chef) after he noticed how few options existed for Keto dieters when dining out. With 20+ years in the restaurant industry, including time as a corporate chef, Michael built Keto Food Co. around craveable, Keto-friendly food with broad appeal.

The menu focuses on burgers, and Michael also created the Keto Cup: a gluten-free, vegan Keto peanut butter cup snack that’s now sold at cafes across the GTA.

The Challenge

How do you win over health-conscious Keto customers if you can’t back up your menu with clear nutrition information they can track in their diet apps? That was Michael’s challenge.

He also knew recipe costing is essential to smart menu engineering, but his old workflow relied on Excel spreadsheets to track and calculate costs, which was time-consuming. He wanted an automated way to handle nutrition analysis and recipe costing without the spreadsheet grind.
